S1E42, NIGHT Sharing Our Thank You Thoughts (R)
[INTRODUCTION]
Taes: Hello, my name is Taes and I am so happy to be here with you at the very end of our day to say goodnight.
It is just such a good time to think back on what happened today on how we felt throughout the day and just wind down together.
Are you ready?
Me too.
I love knowing all day long that I get to see you and hear about how your day was and how you're feeling.
So, first of all, I just wanna say, thank you so much for being here with me.
[SHARING OUR THANK YOU THOUGHTS]
Taes: Can you go and grab something that makes you feel really cozy? Maybe it's your favorite blanket or your favorite stuffy, whatever it is, and come running back in. And find yourself a nice spot to sit or lie down. Whichever one you want to do.
And when you get there, can you take a great big, deep breath in and let it out? And as you let it out, just imagine that you're sinking a little deeper down into wherever you are.
Ready? Deep breath in and let it out and sink right down deep into wherever you're sitting or lying down.
And today we are going to end our day with some thank you thoughts. What is a thank you thought? What do you think a “thank you thought” is?
Yeah, a “thank you thought” is saying “thank you” for something that happened in your day. And we can say “thank you” for people. We can say, “thank you” for things. We can say “thank you” for really little things that we might even not think to say “thank you” for. And those are the best kinds of thank you thoughts.
And here's the thing about “thank you thought”: when you do lots and lots of “thank you thought” throughout the day, and before you go to bed, you will actually become happier and you will have a better day. That is the magical part about “thank you thought”, that it actually switches your brain to think, “Oh yeah, I'm feeling good. And I have so many good things in my life.”
So let's start in the morning. So when you first opened your eyes today and you got out of bed, what is something that you can say, “thank you” for.
I'll do an example, and then you can tell me yours.
So I might say, “Thank you, smoothie”, because I had a smoothie for breakfast.
So what's something that you could say “thank you” for in your morning time. Ready?
That's a really good one.
Okay. Now, when you look at your day, who is a person that you could say “thank you” for? What do you think?
So I might say “thank you” to my sister, because I had a really nice conversation with my sister today. So who is somebody that you might want to say “thank you” to today?
That's a really good one. Thanks for sharing.
And now I'm going to say a “thank you thought”, and then you are going to say one after me. Okay. So I'll say one of mine and then you say one of yours and we'll go back and forth like that.
Okay. Here we go.
Thank you, sun.
Thank you for the food.
Thank you for my bed.
Thank you for the trees.
Thank you for my warm sweatshirt.
Thank you for the water that I had to drink today.
Thank you for my dog.
Thank you for you, listening.
And do you notice that as you say, “thank you thoughts”, you start to feel a little better? And even if you weren't feeling not good in the beginning, you just start to feel really good because filling your heart with “thank you thoughts” just fills your whole body with really, really good feelings.
So to end off our time together today, I want to say “thank you” to you. Thank you to you for just being you and for being here right now with me.
I love spending time with you at the end of the day, and I can't wait to see you tomorrow morning.
So, until then, have a great sleep.
[CLOSING]
Taes: Thank you to you for being here with me.
I can't wait to see you tomorrow morning.
Have an amazing sleep with lots of happy dreams.
Remember, there is nobody in the whole world with a heart just like yours.
I love you. And I love your big heart so much.
