S2E36, NIGHT Paint Yourself a Favorite Color

[INTRODUCTION]

Taes: Hello, my name is Taes and I am so happy to be here with you at the very end of our day to say goodnight.

It is just such a good time to think back on what happened today on how we felt throughout the day and just wind down together.

Are you ready?

Me too.

I love knowing all day long that I get to see you and hear about how your day was and how you're feeling.

So, first of all, I just wanna say, thank you so much for being here with me.

[PAINT YOURSELF A FAVORITE COLOR]

Taes: So can you do all of your bedtime business? Go and put your pjs on. Brush your teeth. Say goodnight to everybody that you love. Grab a stuffy or a favorite blanket and come on over and get nice and cozy. And we will begin.

Tonight, we are gonna bring your favorite color back and we're going to use your favorite color to help get you nice and sleepy. If you joined us this morning, you will know that we used our favorite color to help take us from big feelings into the feeling of calm tonight. We're gonna use that favorite color in a different way.

So, can you put your hands on your heart and imagine. Your favorite color, take a deep breath in and let it out.

And can you tell me right now? What is your favorite color? Good.

Why is this color your favorite color?

And how does it make you feel when you think about your favorite color? Good.

So we're gonna take that favorite color and we are going to move it from your hands throughout your whole body, and imagine that your favorite color is able to make you really relaxed and really sleepy.

So what we're gonna do is this: can you hold up one hand? And imagine that in that hand you are holding a paint brush And that down on the floor, you have a big container of paint. And this paint is your very favorite color.

So reach down and dip your paint brush in the paint. Good. Now we're gonna start at the top of your head. And first, can you say the words, “I am so sleepy”? Good.

Now, imagine that you are painting your whole body. Start with the top of your head, paint down over your ears. Good. Paint down your neck. Good. And this is magical, sleepy paint. Did I mention that? Paint down over your shoulders. Can you paint one whole arm your favorite color? Good. Now, can you paint your other arm your favorite color? Hmm. And can you say, “I am so sleepy”? Good.

Now paint your whole body with your imaginary paint and paint down each of your legs. Do a big yawn and say, “I am so sleepy”.

And when you get to your toes, imagine that paintbrush going over your feet and over each of your toes. Can you say, “I am so sleepy”?

Take a big deep breath in and let it out. And imagine that this color is making you extra sleepy and extra happy too. Because when you are covered with your favorite color, you are filled with lots of happy thoughts. And we know that happy thoughts lead to happy dreams, which lead to good sleeps, which leads to better days tomorrow.

So take one more deep breath in, let it out, and just imagine that your whole body is now painted your favorite color.

And can you say, “Oh! I am so sleepy”. Good.

So this is another way to use that favorite color to dip it in imaginary paint and to make your body filled with happy and sleepy thoughts right before bed.

[CLOSING]

Taes: Thank you to you for being here with me.

I can't wait to see you tomorrow morning.

Have an amazing sleep with lots of happy dreams.

Remember, there is nobody in the whole world with a heart just like yours.

I love you. And I love your big heart so much.
