S1E08, NIGHT I’ve Got This and Reasons Why
[INTRODUCTION]
Taes: Hello, my name is Taes and I am so happy to be here with you at the very end of our day to say goodnight.
It is just such a good time to think back on what happened today on how we felt throughout the day and just wind down together.
Are you ready?
Me too.
I love knowing all day long that I get to see you and hear about how your day was and how you're feeling.
So, first of all, I just wanna say, thank you so much for being here with me.
[THE REASON WHY GAME]
Taes: It's so good to see you. And I have a really important question for you And this is a bit of a heart-to-heart moment. So can you put your hands on your heart and I'll put mine on mine.
Okay. Here's my question: Do you actually feel like going to bed tonight?
Cause sometimes I have to tell you, I do not want to go to bed. Sometimes I just think there's so many other things I would rather do other than go to bed.
If you have ever had that feeling, can you touch the top of your head? Yeah. So when there are things in life that I think “I do not want to do that”, I like to play the Reason Why Game.
And the Reason Why Game helps me remember why I have to do the things. And when I can remember the “why”, it makes me want to do them.
So why do you think that we need to fall asleep? Why is sleeping really important? Can you tell me one reason why you think sleeping is important?
Yeah, that's a good one.
Sleeping is so important for our bodies because our bodies need rest. And when we rest our bodies, we can wake up in the morning and feel like we have lots of…” Yeah. Energy.
How many times have you not slept enough and in the morning you feel not good. Yeah.
Can you touch the top of your head if you've ever had a really bad sleep and then the next day you have a really bad day? Yeah.
So sleeping helps us feel better the next day. And when we get enough sleep, we are able to have a much better day because our body is running at 100%.
So sleeping is really, really, really, really, really, really, really important. And even if, sometimes we don't want to sleep, touch the top of your head, yeah, that's me too. Sometimes we don't want to sleep. It's still really important that we sleep.
And that is why it's important that we do things that prepare our body for sleep.
So today, I want you to just act out going to bed. So can you crawl into your bed, put your head on the pillow and can you say, “I love this soft pillow?”
Can you say, “I love this soft bed?”
Can you pull the covers up to your chin? Can you say, “I love my covers?”
Can you take a big deep breath in and let it out and say, “I love sleeping because it is good for my body?”
Altogether. Say, “I love sleeping because it is good for my body.”
And I really want your body to feel really good to me. And that is why it is so important that we sleep, because it keeps your mind healthy and it keeps your body healthy. And what I want for you is a healthy mind and a healthy body.
So put your hands in your heart and can you say, “Thank you heart.” And say, “Good night.”
Good night.
[CLOSING]
Taes: Thank you to you for being here with me.
I can't wait to see you tomorrow morning.
Have an amazing sleep with lots of happy dreams.
Remember, there is nobody in the whole world with a heart just like yours.
I love you. And I love your big heart so much.
