S2E10, NIGHT It’s OK To Stop and Sit

[INTRODUCTION]

Taes: Hello, my name is Taes and I am so happy to be here with you at the very end of our day to say goodnight.

It is just such a good time to think back on what happened today on how we felt throughout the day and just wind down together.

Are you ready?

Me too.

I love knowing all day long that I get to see you and hear about how your day was and how you're feeling.

So, first of all, I just wanna say, thank you so much for being here with me.

[IT’S OK TO STOP AND SIT]

Taes: Good morning. No,  it is not the morning. Good night. Hello everybody. Hello everyone. And welcome.

It is so good to see you here at the very end of our day. To get ready to say goodnight, can you make sure that you have done all of those things that you do every single night? Brush your teeth. Say goodnight to everybody in your house. Put your jammies on. Grab your favorite stuffy or your favorite blanket. And come on back and you are going to actually stand up for me besides your bed.

In this morning's episode, we talked about how it's okay to stop and sit. And we tried to find places in our day when we could just stop and sit.

So can you look back on your day now and just notice if there were any spots that you were able to just stop and sit and do not-too-much at all.

And If you were able to take a moment for not being busy, can you touch the top of your head? And if you had no times today to stop and sit that's okay, too. Can you touch your nose? Good.

We always have tomorrow to make new spaces to stop and sit. And right now at the end of the day is a perfect time to stop and sit.

And before we do that, I want to stretch all of your body. So you're gonna stretch as high as you can up into the air. Can you go up onto your tippy toes? Can you stretch your fingers right up to the ceiling? Good.

Now, can you fold your body right over, so your fingers are touching your toes on the ground? And just let your body hang there for a second. Wiggle back and forth a bit and now roll up slowly, slowly, slowly until you are standing again.

Let's do it one more time. Ready? Put your hands up above your head, stretch up on your tippy toes, up towards your ceiling. And then you're gonna fold over and bring your fingers to your toes and just hang there for just a minute, wiggling back and forth.

And now can you roll up slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly until you are standing. And, at the end of the day, it's a really good time to stop and sit. So can you sit down on your bed for me? And just notice how it feels to sit in your bed?

And can you say, “I love you bed”? Isn't it nice that there's a bed for you at the end of the day, a bed that's so nice and comfy. And has your name right on.

Good. Now, can you lie down in that bed? And as you lie down, can you pull your covers up right to your chin? Can you take a great big, deep breath in and let it out? And can you put your hands on that big, beautiful heart of yours?

And as you feel your heart beating, can you count to five? Ready? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Take another deep breath in, let it out and count to 5. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

And as you take this time to stop, to stop moving your body and to just rest, I want you to remember that you are so special. That you were never alone. That you are always loved.

[CLOSING]

Taes: Thank you to you for being here with me.

I can't wait to see you tomorrow morning.

Have an amazing sleep with lots of happy dreams.

Remember, there is nobody in the whole world with a heart just like yours.

I love you. And I love your big heart so much.
