S2E18, NIGHT I Let Go

[INTRODUCTION]

Taes: Hello, my name is Taes and I am so happy to be here with you at the very end of our day to say goodnight.

It is just such a good time to think back on what happened today on how we felt throughout the day and just wind down together.

Are you ready?

Me too.

I love knowing all day long that I get to see you and hear about how your day was and how you're feeling.

So, first of all, I just wanna say, thank you so much for being here with me.

[I LET GO]

Taes: It's so good to see you for our good nighttime.

So you know how you do it. Make sure that you're all ready for bed. Make sure that you have brushed your teeth. That you've said goodnight to everybody that you love. Pets included. That you have put on your jammies and then grab a favorite stuffy or a blanket. And you're gonna crawl right into bed.

And once you are in bed, take those hands and put them on your big, beautiful heart? And just notice how your heart is feeling right now.

And can you tell me out loud, how is your heart feeling right now?

Thank you so much for sharing.

Now, can you look back on your day and just notice if you had any big feelings that you're still carrying with you? Sometimes we have big feelings happen in our day, big cloudy feelings like anger or being really upset or being disappointed.

Just notice if you have any of those feelings right now. And if you do, just sit with them because it's okay to have all of those big feelings, but we do wanna make sure that we let those big feelings go before going to sleep because those big feelings are the kind of feelings that keep us awake at night.

So just notice if you have any big cloudy feelings that are left over from the day. And can you take one of those feelings, whatever it is, and I want you to hold that feeling in your hand. Just imagine that you're holding that big feeling in your hand.

And now can you say, “I let go.” And open your hands, and let your feeling fall out of your hands and into the night.

Take a big deep breath and let it out.

And now find another big cloudy feeling. If you have any, any more big, cloudy feelings, you're gonna gather them together, hold them in your hands. Give them a little bit of love, because it's really important that we love all of our feelings, but at night it's also important that we let them go. So take a big deep breath in and let it out. And just say, “I let go.”

And notice in your body, if there's any other big feelings or big worried thoughts that are with you and gather them up, give them a little hug in your hand. Maybe blow them and kiss.

Get them. Take a big deep breath in. Let it out and just open your hands and release them. And can you say, “I let go.”

And just for fun, can you say it even louder in a not-a-bedtime voice? Say “I let go”.

Now a little bit quieter. Ready? “I let go.”

Even quieter. “I let go.”

Be quiet. Ready.

Now, hold your hands in your heart and just whisper it inside of your body.

And all of those feelings that you have let go of so that you can have a really good sleep with happy dreams. They might be feelings that you can talk about tomorrow with somebody that you love. But for now, “I let go”.

Close your eyes. Take one more deep breath in, let it out. Can you whisper to your heart, “I love you heart.”

[CLOSING]

Taes: Thank you to you for being here with me.

I can't wait to see you tomorrow morning.

Have an amazing sleep with lots of happy dreams.

Remember, there is nobody in the whole world with a heart just like yours.

I love you. And I love your big heart so much.
