S1E39, MORNING The Wood Chop (R)

[INTRODUCTION]

Taes: Good morning. My name is Taes and I want to welcome you to today.

Can you wave your hand and say, “Good morning, day.”

Can you put your hands on your heart and say, “Good morning, heart.”

And I want to say good morning to you.

I just love getting to start today with you as we check in, as we wake up our bodies, and as we think about what is in store for us today.

Are you ready to start off our morning? Great!

So let's get started with our activity.

[THE WOOD CHOP]

Taes: I'm excited today because I want to show you something I like to call “The Wood Chop”.

Now the Wood Chop is a really, really good thing to do when you have a great, big, huge feeling and you want to move it around. So what kind of great, big, huge feelings might you have?

Yeah, those are all really good. And we all have great big, huge feelings. There is nothing wrong with them. And it's really important for us to know ways that we can move through them. And the wood chopper is one of those.

So what you're going to do is take your hands and clasp them together in front of. And then you're going to put your hands above your head. And you are going to imagine that you are a wood chopper and do you have an imaginary ax and you were going to cut some wood with your acts.

So what you're going to do is you're going to drop your hands down and you're going to say the word “Ha” as loud as you can.

Are you ready?

You're going to drop your hands down and you're going to say, “Ha.”

Good. Now, come back up, keep your hands classed over your head and you're going to drop down and you're going to say, “Ha.” Good. Let's do it again.

Ready? Hands up. And you're going to go, “Ha.” Yes.

One more time. Hands up over your head clasped together. Drop them down and say, “Ha.”

So you can see how the word “ha” i's a big one. It opens up your mouth, it opens up your body and let some of those feelings out. And doing the action of chopping is really, really good for moving those great big feelings. And it's also a really good one for when you want to have more energy.

Because the thing is you get to decide how you feel. And by moving your body, you will learn how to move through big feelings.

And the Wood Chop is a really, really good way to move some of those big feelings and also to wake your body up, to have lots of energy for the day.

Let's do it all together. One more time, put your hands together, clasp them in front of you. Raise them over your head and ready and drop it. And you're going to go, “Ha.” Yeah.

Okay. One more time. One more time. One more time. Raise them up over your head and, “Ha.”

Yes. Now, can you put your hands in your heart? Your big, big heart.

Can you take a great big, deep breath in, let it out? Aand just notice that you've opened up some new, big energy for the day, because I know that you are going to have a really great big heart kind of a day. and I will see you back here tonight.

[CLOSING]

Taes: I'm so excited for you and for your day.

And I want to say thank you so much for starting today with me and for setting yourself up for a big heart kind of day.

I can't wait to see you tonight and hear about all of the things that you did.

Remember: there is nobody in the whole world with a heart, just like yours.

I love you. And I love your big heart so much.
