S1E57, MORNING Happiness is Contagious (R)

[INTRODUCTION]

Taes: Good morning. My name is Taes and I want to welcome you to today.

Can you wave your hand and say, “Good morning, day.”

Can you put your hands on your heart and say, “Good morning, heart.”

And I want to say good morning to you.

I just love getting to start today with you as we check in, as we wake up our bodies, and as we think about what is in store for us today.

Are you ready to start off our morning? Great!

So let's get started with our activity.

[HAPPINESS IS CONTAGIOUS]

Taes: Today, we are gonna talk about what it means to be happy. Can you tell me right now, what do you think it means to be happy?

Yeah. And did you know that you can actually practice happiness?

Science actually shows that if we practice happiness, we make those we come into contact with happier. So what this really means is that happiness is contagious.

So how do you think that we can practice happiness?

Yeah. We can do things that make us happy. And we can choose happy thoughts.

I like to think of all of the things that make me feel really happy inside of my heart. And then, when I'm feeling maybe grouchy or, like, not very good, I pull out my list of happy things and I can read them. So then I can remember all of these really beautiful things that make me happy.

So I would like to know today what are five things that make you really happy. I'm gonna count, and then you tell me the five things that make you really happy.

But first as an example, I'll tell you mine. Okay. My dog makes me really happy. I love the color of the ocean. That makes me really happy. I love eating with my family. That makes me really, really happy. I love swimming in the ocean. Oh, I said ocean twice, but that makes me really, really happy. And I really love being with my friends. That makes me happy.

Okay. Are you ready? It's your turn number one. What's one thing that makes you happy?

Good. One number two. What's another thing that makes you happy?

Nice. Number three?

Number four?

And number five?

Oh, those are all so good. So I want you to reach out your arms right now. And I want you to imagine that you're gathering all of those things that make you really happy. And put them inside of your heart. And then hold your heart for a minute.

Take a big deep breath in. Let it out. And just allow that feeling of all of those things that make you feel so happy to sit inside of your heart, and to sit inside of your body. And, all day long, know that those live inside of your heart and that you get to choose happiness. And when you do, it's actually contagious. So, by you being happy, you're spreading it to someone else. And you know what. You make me so happy. I just love getting to know you. Getting to spend this time with you.

So thank you for being here and I'll see you tonight for our goodnight time.

[CLOSING]

Taes: I'm so excited for you and for your day.

And I want to say thank you so much for starting today with me and for setting yourself up for a big heart kind of day.

I can't wait to see you tonight and hear about all of the things that you did.

Remember: there is nobody in the whole world with a heart, just like yours.

I love you. And I love your big heart so much.
