S2E07, MORNING Grumpies
[INTRODUCTION]
Taes: Good morning. My name is Taes and I want to welcome you to today.
Can you wave your hand and say, “Good morning, day.”
Can you put your hands on your heart and say, “Good morning, heart.”
And I want to say good morning to you.
I just love getting to start today with you as we check in, as we wake up our bodies, and as we think about what is in store for us today.
Are you ready to start off our morning? Great!
[GRUMPIES]
Taes: Today, we are going to do something really fun for when you start having big grumpy feelings.
Have you ever had big grumpy feelings before? I mean, I guess we've probably all had big grumpy feelings, right?
Well, this is something that you can do when you feel those big grumpy feelings come on. And it's also something that you can do anytime, because it's really fun. So, let's just do a check in. Are you feeling grumpy right now? If you are touch the top of your. Okay. Got it. So we're gonna do it right now. And it's also really good practice for when you are feeling grumpy, you can practice it now and you can do it then.
And once you're done doing your grumpy dance, we're gonna connect to your heart and then send you out into the day.
Can you jump up on your feet and can you show me your biggest grumpiest face? Oh, that's a really grumpy face. Can you make it even grumpier? And how does your body stand when you're feeling really grumpy? Oh, that's really good.
Okay. So once you have your grumpy face and you're standing like you're really grumpy, can you say the words, “I am so grumpy”?
Okay, good. Now what you're gonna do is you are going to jump in the air 10 times, and every time you jump, you're going to say, “I love you”.
So it'll go like this: One, I love you. Two, I love you. Three, I love you. Four, I love you. All the way till we get to 10. I know this seems really silly, but I promise you, this is a magic trick for the grumpy.
Are you ready? Jump up on your feet. Oh, you're already on your feet. Here we go.
Jump!
One. I love you.
Two. I love you.
Three. I love you.
Four. I love you.
Five. I love you.
Six. I love you.
Seven. I love you.
Eight. I love you.
Nine. I love you.
Ten. I love you.
Freeze.
Put your hands on your heart.. Take a big deep breath in, let it out, and just notice how your heart is feeling right.
Yeah. Did you know that this works because what we're doing is we're moving our bodies, which is really helpful for when we have big feelings, cuz we wanna try to move them out of our bodies. And we're connecting with our hearts by saying, “I love you”. And both of those things together really help when you're feeling great, big grumpy feelings.
So right now let's just connect with that great, big, beautiful heart of yours. Put your hands in your heart, take a big deep breath in, let it out. Just notice how you're feeling right now.
And just sit with however it is that you're feeling. And know that today you're probably gonna feel a lot of different feelings and all of them are okay to feel. And sometimes you'll be able to do active things to get yourself to feel different feelings if you want to.
So today, you can try the counting I love you trick if you ever feel the grumpies come on.
[CLOSING]
Taes: I'm so excited for you and for your day.
And I want to say thank you so much for starting today with me and for setting yourself up for a big heart kind of day.
I can't wait to see you tonight and hear about all of the things that you did.
Remember: there is nobody in the whole world with a heart, just like yours.
I love you. And I love your big heart so much.
