S1E01, MORNING Feelings (R)

[INTRODUCTION]

Taes: Good morning. My name is Taes and I want to welcome you to today.

Can you wave your hand and say, “Good morning, day.”

Can you put your hands on your heart and say, “Good morning, heart.”

And I want to say good morning to you.

I just love getting to start today with you as we check in, as we wake up our bodies, and as we think about what is in store for us today.

Are you ready to start off our morning? Great!

[NAME YOUR FEELINGS]

Today we're going to do an activity. And then I have something that I'd really like to share with you.

So let's get started with our activity.

We'll need you and we'll need that big heart of yours. Can you put your hands in your heart right now and just listen to it beat? And as you listen, can you count to five out loud?

Ready? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

I would really love to hear how you are feeling this morning. So as you just sit with your heart for a minute, figure out how your heart is feeling today.

And I'm going to name some feelings and, if I guess how you are feeling right now, can you put your hands on your head?

Okay? Are you ready? Let's go.

Are you feeling excited? Scared? Happy? Nervous? Sad? Hungry? A little bit of all of these feelings all mixed into one? Okay. And if you're feeling a feeling that I didn't mention, I would love to hear what that feeling is on the count of three.

Are you ready? 1, 2, 3.

Thank you so much for sharing. I really love hearing all of the ways that you feel.

[SHARING FEELINGS]

I want to share something with you. Sometimes I have a hard time sharing my feelings. Sometimes I find that it just feels easier to keep them inside my body. But the thing is that I have noticed that when I don't share my feelings, they seem to just get bigger.

Have you ever kept a feeling inside for so long that it got bigger?

Yeah, me too.

Sharing how your heart feels is just so important to help you connect to yourself and to the people around you. And to make sure that the feelings don't get so big that they take over our entire bodies. So that's why it's really important that we get to spend some time together at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day.

This is a time when you can share, however it is that you are feeling. And together, we can learn new ways of talking about these feelings and moving right through them.

This way you never have to feel alone with your feelings.

And this way, we always have ways to talk about them and get them out of our bodies.

So, I would love to invite you to notice how you are feeling as you go throughout your day. And as you notice them, can you share those feelings with someone you love? Or you can always share them with me.

[CREDITS]

I'm so excited for you and for your day.

And I want to say thank you so much for starting today with me and for setting yourself up for a big heart kind of day.

I can't wait to see you tonight and hear about all of the things that you did.

Remember: there is nobody in the whole world with a heart, just like yours.

I love you. And I love your big heart so much.
