S1E31, MORNING Feeling Soup (R)

[INTRODUCTION]

Taes: Good morning. My name is Taes and I want to welcome you to today.

Can you wave your hand and say, “Good morning, day.”

Can you put your hands on your heart and say, “Good morning, heart.”

And I want to say good morning to you.

I just love getting to start today with you as we check in, as we wake up our bodies, and as we think about what is in store for us today.

Are you ready to start off our morning? Great!

So let's get started with our activity.

[FEELING SOUP]

Taes: Can you take those hands and put them on your heart and just take a minute to listen to your heartbeat and check-in. How is your heart feeling this morning?

If you are having sunny feelings, can you touch the top of your head? A sunny feeling is something that makes your heart shine bright, like happiness or excitement or joy.

Okay. And if you're having some cloudy feelings, can you touch your nose? For me, cloudy feelings are feelings that put a cloud over your heart. They might be sadness or anger or disappointment.

And all those feelings are okay to have, but we just like to have different names for them.

So cloudy feelings, touch your nose. And if you're feeling sunny feelings, touch the top of your head.

And is anyone… are you having a big feeling soup? A feeling soup is something when you have so many feelings all at once that you don't even know what feeling is.

Well,  if you are having a big feeling soup, can you stir your soup pot?

Okay. So let's try that again. If you're having sunny feelings touch the top of your head. If you're having cloudy feelings, touch your nose. And if you're having a big feeling soup, can you stir your soup pot?

Good. Thank you so much for sharing how you are feeling today.

I hope that you can go through all of today noticing how you're feeling. So what I want you to do today is as you're going throughout your day, just all of a sudden, when you think of it, I want you to just put your hands in your heart and notice if you're having sunny feelings, cloudy feelings, or a feeling soup.

We call this a heart check. And I think that it's important to have heart checks all throughout the day. And when you do that, you'll be able to know how you are feeling and then share it with somebody around you.

When you can share your feelings with people around you, you will feel so much happier because when you have cloudy feelings that you keep inside, that will make your heart feel not good.

So, we like to get those feelings out, out, out, and share them with people you love and people who love you.

And I'm always here in the morning and in the night, if you have any big feelings that you want to share.

So right now, can you stretch your arms out besides you? Good. How can you wrap those arms around yourself and just give yourself a great big hug. A hug just for being you. A hug for this day that you are about to see. A hug because I love you so much.

[CLOSING]

Taes: I'm so excited for you and for your day.

And I want to say thank you so much for starting today with me and for setting yourself up for a big heart kind of day.

I can't wait to see you tonight and hear about all of the things that you did.

Remember: there is nobody in the whole world with a heart, just like yours.

I love you. And I love your big heart so much.
